The major activity in the FIET/UNI Solidarity project in 2004 as well as the major event in the entire trade union movement in the country this year was A youth Summer Camp organized by this project. The idea as such existed from the very beginning of the project and has been realized as part of this year’s activities.

Arranged from 11-17 June in Zaostrog, Croatia this camp has brought together 15 youngsters from Zenica and 9 young trade union members of PAM from tampere,Finland. The camp was named “Breaking up the borders” in order to signalize the need for final break up of all borders that come in front of youth around the world.

 

The camp itself was a unique presentation of the possibilities and skills of young trade unionists who had prepared their homework for almost a half of year.

The issues discussed were general trade union issues such as organizing, membership relations etc. It also offered the possibility to the participants to exchange the information about their structures and organization. It on very interesting and new way have shown the problems of young workers but also the problems of young people as such trough remarkable role plays. The camp has also given the opportunity to the participants to made two extremely professional and original presentations of the two countries, culture and tradition. The youngsters have had a chance to compete in number of funny but quite existing beach games, and in hall this camp has made the group of 25 young people the most interesting and the most popular group in the entire Dalmatian region during that week.

This camp has also given a great opportunity to CTUBIH as a nominal organization to show how modern and future oriented it is.
