SARAJEVO, October 7th (FENA) – The Union of retail workers and hospitality industry in B&H has celebrated the international Day of dignity at work by establishing an exhibit “Stories about the dignity at work” which was prepared in partnership with the Historical museum of B&H.

The Exhibit touches on the history of united fight for workers’ rights, about the development of trade in B&H and about workers. Each era had left its specific mark on this dynamic branch of economy, and some of these “marks” became symbols of Sarajevo, such as the mall Sarajka, hotel Holliday, Skenderija center, Parkuša bar…

The author of the concept and the exhibit, Elma Hodžić, said that it somehow reveals how political systems and society treat the labour.

– “Workers’ stories are different, but as the author I found it important to support them in telling different stories about both positive and negative means in our society, so that we could then change it the right way. An individual today can do only so little on his or her own. In a way, he or she can change their perspective and take care about his or her dignity and labour, only when they act together, not just that at work. As the exhibit shows – we can achieve more” – said Hodžić
